Our
research has been focused on biogenesis of iron-sulfur clusters and
redox regulation of iron-sulfur proteins. Iron-sulfur clusters
are ubiquitous, and deficiency of iron-sulfur clusters has been
associated with many human diseases including cardiovascular diseases,
type II diabetes, neurodegenerative diseases, and cancers. By
combining molecular biology and biophysics tools, we intend to
illustrate dynamic metabolism of iron-sulfur proteins in response to
cellular oxidative and nitrosative
stresses in bacteria and mammalian cells.
Currently,
we are looking for two graduate students who will participate in the
research projects supported by NIH and American Heart Association. If
you are interested in these positions, please send an email to hding@lsu.edu.
